After another great Reunion, its time for the wrap up.

1.      Late Stayer Awards

Friday Night – Stuart Mullins and Patrick Mewing – whom I ‘deposited’ at the Irish Club at midnight (as I exited stage right to head home and prepare for the main event).

Apparently Pat’s wife, who is not use to such nocturnal habits, thought Pat was MIA (and very close to calling the Police).

Saturday Night – it was 2am at the Normanby, Joe Lutvey (still getting over jetlag from Beijing) was in serious debate with Peter Harris (up from Sydney) as to the logistics of getting to the airport for an 8am flight (I would be thinking more about sacking their travel agency).

2.      Most Conscientious

This award goes to Bill Hinz, Rob Gregg and Gerard Ryan.  Bill left around 11.30pm.  Robert delayed his exit til around 1am.  Apparently some overeager person had scheduled a training session for their rowing squad for early Sunday morning (obviously the Olympic’s had got to them).

3.      Thanks

As the night got away on us I was remiss not to recognise the following individuals for their efforts in getting things organised.  Firstly the Committee of Peter Torbey (who did all the logistics), Dean Merlo, Chris Backstrom, Jonathan Perrins, Stephen Pincus (for tracking down our class mates).

Thank you also to the great team at Merlo’s Catering.

4.      Staying in Touch

With a view to keeping in touch, we will organise an annual get together, a low key gathering at a bar to keep our list current so that when our next 5 or 10 year reunion comes around, it will be somewhat easier to track everyone down.

In the interim, any changes of address please let me know and I will keep our database current.

Best wishes for the next few years and if you couldn’t attend either Friday or Saturday night, rest assured you were missed and we had a great event.

Not to mention you missed hilarious recollections by ex-Brother Dennis McLaughlin (Penguin) and Brother Arbiro (Dave Toohey)…..who we must also thank as our MC for the night.
